The Path

Roses, thistles and thorns
red velvet and lavender warns
careless touch and errant steps
I am the way that mourns
Soft grass, tree and butterfly
Why not green, or blue am I
or starlit path beneath your sky?
I am the way that wonders.
Spring snows, summer showers, and years
rainbows above waterfall rivers of tears
where the secret gold that never appears
Is the way I wish you’ll keep looking
I am the path that hopes you’ll find me
